On Friday, December 8, 2023, the ad interim Director of the National Institute of Justice, Ecaterina Popa, has received the visit of the Head of the Council of Europe Office in Chisinau, Falk Lange. This is the first visit to the NIJ since the beginning of his mandate.
On this occasion, were appreciated the excellent level of bilateral cooperation and the contribution of the Council of Europe to the creation of the National Institute of Justice of the Republic of Moldova, as well as the support provided for 16 years, in order to strengthen the capacities of the Institute for the judicial training of professionals in the law sector. Also, the parties emphasized the importance of developing this partnership on all dimensions of collaboration, approaching new perspectives that provide a flexible response to the emerging needs related to legal training.
The meeting was also attended by Olga Marandici, advisor to the Director of the NIJ, head of the International Relations Section, and Tatiana Bedros, senior coordinator of CoE „Strengthening the human rights protection of refugees and migrants in the Republic of Moldova”.
