The National Institute of Justice was visited on Thursday, April 27, 2023, by the Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary Ambassador of Ukraine to the Republic of Moldova, H.E. Marko Shevchenko, to hold a public lecture addressed to the NIJ trainees. The event was preceded by the meeting of His Excellency with NIJ ad interim director Ecaterina Popa.
The discussions were also attended by Olga Marandici, Head of the international relations Section, and Cezara-Elena Polisca, Head of the didactic-methodological and training of trainers Section of the NIJ, Mihail Voda, Director of the General Inspectorate for Migration of the Ministry of Internal Affairs, NIJ trainer and Tatiana Bedros, Senior Coordinator of the CoE project “Strengthening the human rights protection of the refugees and migrants in the Republic of Moldova”.
During the meeting, was expressed the gratitude for the interview given by the H.E. Marko Shevchenko for the NIJ Journal, but also were mentioned the established partnerships of the National Institute of Justice of the Republic of Moldova with the National Academy of Prosecutors and with the National School of Judges of Ukraine, that were formalized by signing the collaboration agreements, which have a significant impact on the development and strengthening the bilateral partnership.
Also, were envisaged the activities planned in the Council of Europe Project “Strengthening the human rights protection of the refugees and migrants in the Republic of Moldova” that has as a target complex trainings on ensuring access to refugee rights and their integration in the host society, as well as awareness raising on migration, through organization of the drawing competition for young creative people “My Home is your Home: Together in Safety”, launched in February by the National Institute of Justice, the School of Fine Arts “Alexei Sciusev”, the Council of Europe and the Lawyer's Law Center.
