„The future of justice in the European community: the vision of young people on justice in the Republic of Moldova”, action to inform pupils of art schools

Recently, the National Institute of Justice and the School of Fine Arts "Alexei Sciusev," in partnership with the Council of Europe project "Preventing and protecting children from violence including in the digital environment in the Republic of Moldova," launched the 5th edition of the national fine art contest "The future of justice in the European community: the vision of young people on justice in the Republic of Moldova," for pupils aged between 11 and 17 years.

To guide the contestants in the creative process, on Tuesday, March 19, 2024, on the premises of the School of Fine Arts "Alexei Sciusev," pupils and art teachers participated in an information activity through which they were familiarized with the fundamental European values, in the context of obtaining the status of candidate country for accession of the Republic of Moldova to the European Union.

In their greeting messages, Ecaterina Popa, Ad interim Director of the National Institute of Justice, and Tatiana Bordeianu, Deputy Director of the School of Fine Arts "Alexei Sciusev," encouraged children to participate in the fine art contest, to express, through art, their vision on how justice can evolve and adapt to European standards, including those related to the judicial system

During the event, Gabriela Scutea, EU High Legal Adviser on Justice and Prosecution of the Ministry of Justice, and Angelica Russu, Superior Coordinator of the Council of Europe project "Preventing and protecting children from violence including in the digital environment in the Republic of Moldova," talked about the European course of justice in the Republic of Moldova, the benefits of integration into the EU – an area of European security and justice, opportunities for education and free movement, human rights, and child-friendly justice, etc.

The national fine art contest "The future of justice in the European community: the vision of young people on justice in the Republic of Moldova" is held based on the collaboration agreement signed by the National Institute of Justice and the School of Fine Arts "Alexei Sciusev."
