29. 10. 2018

On October 29, 2018, the 143th anniversary of the birth of Queen Marie of Romania is celebrated. Her Majesty was born on 29 October 1875 in the United Kingdom of Great Britain and Northern Ireland, being the Queen of Romania between 1914 and 1927.

Named "Mother of the Wounded" and "Soldier Queen" for the courage manifested during the First World War, she was actively involved in many social and cultural projects. Not in vain, in Chisinau, the orphanage that housed many children between 1929 and 1940, which became a model for the whole country, took her name.

Being the headquarters of the National Institute of Justice, the building on Serghei Lazo Street was recently renovated and the grand hall was symbolically named the Queen Marie Hall in honor of her complex and powerful personality.
