The candidates to the positions of prosecutor and judge visited the General Prosecutor's Office and the Superior Council of Prosecutors

On Friday, October 25, 2019, on the occasion of the European Day of Civil Justice, the trainees of the National Institute of Justice, candidates to the positions of prosecutor and judge, visited the General Prosecutor's Office and the Superior Council of Prosecutors.

On this occasion, the future prosecutors and judges, accompanied by Dumitru Purici, the Head of the Didactics, Methodology and Training of Trainers Section, met with Dumitru Robu, Interim General Prosecutor, as well as with the Chief prosecutors of the General Prosecutor's Office subdivisions. At the same time, the trainees had a meeting with Angela Motuzoc, the President of the Superior Council of Prosecutors.

During the documentation visit were discussed topics such as prosecutor’s independence, ethics and deontology, recent legislative changes, powers of the prosecutor's office, current challenges and the European standards in the field. The presentations generated a round of questions and answers between the professionals in office and those in the future.

The event is part of a series of meetings of the NIJ trainees with representatives of different institutions within the legal system, being complementary activities to the initial training of candidates to the positions of judge and prosecutor.
