During February 21-22, 2024, in Brussels, Kingdom of Belgium, took place the first meeting of the delegation of the Republic of Moldova with the European Commission, attended by representatives of the institutions responsible for Chapter 23 - Judicial system and fundamental rights. The National Institute of Justice was represented by Ecaterina Popa, ad interim Director.

The event aimed to start the explanatory screening process of the European Union acquis on Chapter 23 on four key components: the judiciary, anti-corruption policies, fundamental rights and rights of EU citizens.
