Collaboration initiative to strengthen the judiciary in transposing the EU Acquis

On Thursday, July 10, 2025, the Director of the National Institute of Justice, Ramona Strugariu, had a meeting with Bojan Maricik, former Chief Negotiator of North Macedonia, as well as Iulia Cozacenco, Iulian Digor, and Victoria Lanovenco, advisers in the Cabinet of the Deputy Prime Minister for European Integration of the Republic of Moldova.

The main topic of discussion was the initiation of a partnership aimed at addressing the needs of the justice system in adapting to the requirements of the country’s EU accession process. Discussions also focused on the ways in which the National Institute of Justice can contribute to the transposition of European legislation into national judicial practice, including through effective training programs to ensure proper understanding and implementation of the EU acquis by legal professionals.

The meeting highlighted the central role of the National Institute of Justice in preparing judges and prosecutors for the legal challenges of European integration and in strengthening the judiciary’s institutional capacities in this context.
