10. 07. 2025

On Wednesday, July 9, 2025, a meeting took place at the National Institute of Justice between Director Ramona Strugariu and representatives of the project “Promoting Integrity and Transparency for a Modern Justice Sector” – Irina Lupusor and Vladislava Martin-Sirbu. The meeting was also attended by Ecaterina Popa, Head of the Training and Research Department, and Serghei Pivovarcic, Head of the Information Technology Section.

The dialogue focused on several areas of collaboration within the project, with the National Institute of Justice being one of its beneficiaries. The first area concerned the development of a resilience guide intended for both legal sector practitioners and NIJ trainees, with emphasis on mental health and workplace stress management. Subsequently, based on the guide, training sessions and workshops will be organized, taking into account the demanding nature of judges’ and prosecutors’ work and the importance of enhancing professional resilience.

The second component addressed the development of a computerized psychological and behavioral assessment platform, designed to optimize selection mechanisms in admission and graduation processes at NIJ, as well as for entry into the profession. In this context, functional models and good practices implemented in Romania were analyzed, thus providing a perspective for adapting existing solutions to our country’s specificities.

The discussions included aspects related to the creation and use of e-capsules – digital learning tools recommended by the European Judicial Training Strategy – as well as the need to promote digital literacy among justice system actors. At the same time, the importance of modern technical equipment for NIJ was mentioned, in order to streamline training processes.

The project “Promoting Integrity and Transparency for a Modern Justice Sector” is implemented by the International Development Law Organization (IDLO) in partnership with the Swedish International Development Cooperation Agency (SIDA) and aims to reduce corruption, increase transparency in all judicial processes, and strengthen civic engagement with justice sector institutions in the Republic of Moldova.
