Cooperation with the IRZ Foundation discussed at the National Institute of Justice

During April 23-24, 2024, the representatives of the German Foundation for International Legal Cooperation (IRZ) are on a working visit in Chisinau, to discuss further cooperation with the partner organizations in the Republic of Moldova.

On Wednesday, April 24, 2024, the Ad interim Director of the National Institute of Justice, Adrian Cerbu, met with the German delegation, composed from Frank Hupfeld, Head of the section, Anja Finke, Deputy Head of the section, and Leonie Baumann, project manager. The meeting was also attended by Olga Marandici, adviser to the NIJ Director, Head of the International Relations Section.

During the meeting, the value of the partnership between the two parties regarding the judicial training of the beneficiaries of the National Institute of Justice, especially in the field of administrative litigation, was highlighted. In this context, it was discussed the importance of the professional training of newly appointed magistrates in the panels that will examine the administrative litigation cases, the need to train trainers, among judges, on this segment, as well as developing a course support as a didactic material for the training of professionals from the legal sector.

Issues related to the organization of study visits to the Administrative Court of Köln were also addressed in order to strengthening knowledge and familiarization with German administrative law practices. At the same time, it was emphasized the usefulness of conducting a follow-up session for the group of judges and NIJ trainers who were on a similar visit last year in the Federal Republic of Germany.
