Cooperation with professionals from different countries in the framework of the international training program on combating gender-based violence, the subject of the meeting between representatives of the NIJ and Swedish entities

On Friday, April 28, 2023, a meeting between Ecaterina Popa, NIJ ad interim director, Olga Marandici, Head of the International Relations Section, and representatives of the Swedish governmental and non-governmental sector, Daniel Gheorghiu from the of National Operations Department of the Swedish Police Authority, and Eva Zillén, Founder and principal consultant of Kvinna till Kvinna Foundation took place.

During the meeting, was discussed the topic regarding the participation of a NIJ representative in the 7th edition of the international training program “Prevention and response to gender violence – strengthening agents of change”. It is designed for qualified professionals to take part in reform processes at different levels. During the training program, participants and their organizations shall be supported to strengthen, adapt and maintain their capacity to define complex actions in response to gender-based violence. Thus, the focus of the program will be on learning new tools to manage cases of violence more effectively. At the end, the project beneficiaries will develop an innovative and functional prototype according to the needs of the institution they represent.

The international training program “Prevention and response to Gender violence – strengthening agents of change” is implemented by the Swedish Police Authority in collaboration with the Kvina till Kvinna Foundation, with the financial support of the Swedish International Development Cooperation Agency (SIDA).
