The differences and similarities of the legal systems of the Republic of Moldova and Armenia, discussed at the Ministry of Justice

An exchange of views on current aspects of the justice system, with emphasis on the process of evaluation, verification and selection of judges and prosecutors, took place on Wednesday, December 18, 2019, at the Ministry of Justice.

The meeting was attended by the Director of the National Institute of Justice, Diana Scobioala, the Rector of the Academy of Justice of Armenia, Sergey Arakelyan, and the Minister of Justice of the Republic of Moldova, Fadei Nagacevschi.

The discussions focused largely on issues and differences in the law systems of the two countries, including on the institutional practices regarding the training of future judges and prosecutors, as well as on the the training of judges and prosecutors in office. At the same time, the parties expressed their mutual interest in collaborating in the field of qualitative training of professionals in the legal sector.

Between December 16 and 20, 2019, in Chisinau, in order to become acquainted with and take over the NIJ training model oriented on the direct involvement of the trainees in simulations of judicial trials, Sergey Arakelyan, Rector of Academy of Justice of Armenia, pays a study visit.
