The Director of the Academy of European Law, Jean-Philippe Rageade, visits the National Institute of Justice

On Thursday, September 11, 2025, the Director of the National Institute of Justice (NIJ), Ramona Strugariu, together with The Head of the Didactic-Methodical and Trainer Training Section, Cezara-Elena Polisca, and the Head of the Continuing Training Section, Octavian Bivol, met with the Director of the Academy of European Law (ERA), Jean-Philippe Rageade, who is also a member of the Steering Committee of the European Judicial Training Network (EJTN). The discussions focused on strengthening cooperation and identifying opportunities for professional development for legal practitioners.

During the dialogue, the NIJ Director highlighted the role and functioning of the National Institute of Justice, with an emphasis on the need to train the professionals from the judiciary at European standards. She also referred to existing partnerships, stressing the importance of international expertise in improving the training process, as well as the benefits of collaborations that bring together European and national experts for a valuable exchange of knowledge.

The ERA Director spoke about the offer of the Academy for the beneficiaries of the National Institute of Justice and underlined the firm commitment to support the Republic of Moldova, the Institute and the judicial system in its path to the European Union and in consolidating the knowledge of law practitioners in the country. Another topic of interest concerned the eligibility of NIJ beneficiaries for the ERA scholarship program, aimed at deepening knowledge of European Union law, as well as the possibility of directly accessing the Academy’s electronic resources.

Potential venues for cooperation in research activities were explored. Ramona Strugariu invited the ERA Director to join the editorial board of the National Institute of Justice Journal.
