The final Board meeting of the project jointly implemented by UNDP and NIJ took place

Discussions on the actions undertaken within the UNDP project "Strengthening technical capacities of the national institutions for the human rights protection and promotion", funded by the Government of Denmark, were the purpose of the Project Board's final meeting. The event took place on Friday, March 15, 2019, at the National Institute of Justice, and provided the opportunity to evaluate the project's results and its benefits for the institutions involved.

The meeting was attended by representatives of the beneficiary institutions with a mandate in the field of human rights, criminal justice, governance and anti-corruption, including the National Institute of Justice - the strategic partner and the key beneficiary of the project.

Diana Scobioala, Director of the National Institute of Justice, Valeria Ieseanu, Assistant Resident Representative/Head of Programme, Theresia Kirkemann Boesen, Representative of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Denmark, Alexei Ghertescu, Project Officer, UNDP Moldova, and others have spoken at the meeting. The speakers referred to the results recorded during the period 2015 – March 2019 and to the possible perspectives of collaboration.

Diana Scobioala, the NIJ Director, pointed out the joint actions carried out within the project and their impact on the training activities of the National Institute of Justice. In particular, the Director referred to the simulated trials as an innovative method of training and to the methodology of the creation of the simulated trials; to the positive results of admission, graduation and electronic testing that enhance the transparency and quality of professional training provided by NIJ. The NIJ Director also spoke about improved infrastructure, increased accessibility for people with disabilities, and implementation of the quality management system.

The UNDP Project "Strengthening Technical Capacities of the National Institutions for the Human Rights Protection and Promotion", launched in 2015 with the financial support of the Government of Denmark, aimed to improve the protection of human rights and the rule of law by strengthening the institutional capacities of key actors in the relationship between justice and vulnerable groups.
