Meeting with World Bank representatives

On Wednesday, January 28, 2026, the Director of the National Institute of Justice, Ramona Strugariu, welcomed the World Bank representatives Vitalii Kasko and Dmytro Kotlyar for an official meeting. The meeting was also attended by the Deputy Director of the National Institute of Justice, Ghennadi Epure, and the Head of the Continuing Training Department, Octavian Bivol.

The exchange of views focused on perspectives for improving the selection and professional training processes of future judges and prosecutors, as well as on identifying effective solutions to enhance the attractiveness of legal professions. In this context, the importance of maintaining high quality standards at both admission and graduation stages was emphasized, alongside the need for legislative mechanisms to ensure predictability in the professional career paths of trainees of the National Institute of Justice. The discussion also addressed the opportunity to adopt best practice models from other countries in order to facilitate the swift integration of graduates into the judicial system.

Another topic of the meeting concerned specialized continuous training in the field of combating high-level corruption and recovering assets derived from criminal activities. The discussions focused on organizing interactive sessions, such as workshops or roundtables, bringing together judges, prosecutors, and experts to analyze the practical challenges encountered in the examination of major corruption cases.
