Specific aspects of the professional training policy, discussed during the visit of the NIJ Director at the High School for the Magistracy in Florence

The exchange of information and experience between judicial training institutions, particularly in the field of initial and continuous training of judges and prosecutors, was the main objective of the visit of the Director of the National Institute of Justice, Diana Scobioala, to the High School for the Magistracy in Florence, Italy. The event took place on Tuesday, May 14, 2019.

During the visit, Diana Scobioala, accompanied by Valentina Contescu, the head of the Institutional Management Department of the NIJ, as well as representatives of the Moldovan judiciary, met with Luisa Napolitano, the vice-president of the School, former member of the High Council of the Judiciary of Italy and Andrea Del Re, member of the Board of Directors of the School, lawyer.

The meeting served as an occasion for an exchange of views on the functions and attributions of training schools for legal professionals in the Republic of Moldova and Italy. In particular, the parties were interested in the specific aspects of the professional training policy of candidates to the position of judge and prosecutor, as well as judges and prosecutors in office. Another topic discussed was the opportunity to introduce exchange programs for candidates to the position of judge and prosecutor in their initial training at the National Institute of Justice.

The visit was organized within the framework of the European Union Project "Support to efficient prevention and fight against corruption in the Moldovan justice sector".
