On April 3, 2019, the Director of the National Institute of Justice made a courtesy visit to the Ministry of Justice of the Republic of Azerbaijan. Accompanied by the Head of Institutional Management Department of the NIJ, Valentina Contescu and Acting Rector of the Azerbaijani Academy of Justice, Elchin Khalafov, Diana Scobioala met with Vice Minister of Justice, Azer Mammad Oglu Jafarov and the Head of International Cooperation Department of the Ministry of Justice, Adil F. Abilov.
The meeting was a good opportunity for an exchange of views on the functions and attributions of the law institutions of the two states. The parties also discussed Moldovan-Azerbaijani cooperation in the training of legal professionals, emphasizing the necessity to promote good practices on areas of common interest.
In this context, we mention that on April 3, 2019, the Director of the National Institute of Justice of the Republic of Moldova, Diana Scobioala, and the Acting Rector of the Academy of Justice of the Republic of Azerbaijan, Elchin Khalafov, signed a Memorandum of cooperation in the field of trainings to facilitate the partnership between the judicial training institutions of both countries.
