NIJ representatives participate in Development Partners Conference for Justice Digitalization

The Director of the National Institute of Justice, Ramona Strugariu, and the Head of the Training and Research Department, Ecaterina Popa, participated on Thursday, June 26, 2025, in the development partners meeting, held under the theme “Advancing the justice digital agenda through a balanced approach to EU integration needs”. The conference brought together delegates from key justice authorities, European bodies, and international partners involved in the digital transformation of justice.

In her speech, Ramona Strugariu highlighted the priority aspects for adapting the judicial system to contemporary realities. These included the need for digitally literate justice through training programs, equipping with advanced technologies that would enable the National Institute of Justice to respond to challenges faced, including in organizing admission or graduation examinations according to updated standards, developing system resilience through human resource capacity building and through the use of artificial intelligence. The NIJ Director emphasized the beneficial potential of technologies when used appropriately, while also mentioning the importance of specialists who would prepare legal professionals in this regard.

The meeting constituted a platform for discussions regarding the main achievements and obstacles in the justice sector, establishing strategic directions for future actions that would reconfirm the common commitment to fulfilling the accession conditionalities of the Republic of Moldova to the European Union.

The event was organized under the auspices of the Ministry of Justice, with the support of the Swedish Embassy in the Republic of Moldova and the International Development Law Organization.
