Open day at the NIJ

22. 08. 2019

In order to find out about the way of functioning of the only judicial training institution in the Republic, today, August 22, 2019, several young people have entered the threshold of the National Institute of Justice.

The event was organized during the registration period for the 2019 admission contest, being addressed to potential candidates for the positions of judge and prosecutor, students of law faculties, exponents of the legal professions, as well as media representatives.

The point of attraction was the simulation of the written grid test, which is one of the stages of the admission contest. All interested visitors had the opportunity to experience taking the electronic specialty test, implemented in 2016, by UNDP Moldova, with the support of the US Embassy in the Republic of Moldova, in order to eliminate the suspicions of fraud and to make the whole process more transparent.

The agenda of the day also included watching informative video materials and discussions with the trainers about the admission procedure and the training programs offered. Former and current NIJ trainees have shared their experience gained during the studies, reporting in particular on the simulated trials performed during the initial training course and on the opportunities to do internships in European courts. Also, the visitors took a guided tour of the institution, through the study rooms, the trial simulation room and the videoconference room where the meetings of the NIJ Council take place.

We remind you that admission to the NIJ is carried out in several stages: the online application submission; the electronic eliminatory psychological test; the electronic specialty test (the software selects for each competitor 400 questions out of 1600); the oral test (solving two cases randomly selected by the software for each competitor). Both written and oral exams are video and audio recorded.
