The study visit of the NIJ representatives at the National Crime Agency of the United Kingdom

During March 12-13, 2018, a delegation from the Republic of Moldova, formed by representatives of various public institutions and of the International Center La Strada, undertook a study visit at the National Crime Agency of the United Kingdom.

The necessity of this visit was given by the increased interest for the use, by the British similar institutions, of the informational and communicational technologies in investigating cases of child sexual abuse and exploitation.

Also, the visit constituted an opportunity to initiate an exchange of experiences and good practices between the authorities of the Republic of Moldova and of the United Kingdom in the field of child sexual abuse and exploitation investigation.

The National Institute of Justice was represented, within this visit, by Alexandra Nica, the Head of the Training and research division, and Boris Talpa, the Head of the Legal Information Center. The participants were interested in the training programs for the professionals of the justice sector in the field of cybercrime, in the training materials and the content of the online courses on this topic. The acquired knowledge will serve as reference points in the activity of training the NIJ beneficiaries within the continuous training module on Cybercrime.
