“The impact assessment of the new didactic methodology - simulation of trials” was the second edition of the summer school, organized for trainers of the National Institute of Justice and representatives of the United Nations Development Program. The event took place during July, 23-27, 2018, in Curtea de Arges, Romania. Training activities was carried out in the context of modernizing the training of future judges and prosecutors, focused on simulation modules for the trainees of the National Institute of Justice.
Among the special guests of the summer school were the representatives of the Academy of Justice of the Republic of Armenia - Serghey Arakelean, Rector of the Academy, and Robert Shahinyan.
The beneficiaries were trainers of the National Institute of Justice, who participated in the implementation of the new initial training didactic methodology of future judges and prosecutors. Simulation exercises are intended to offer the trainees the possibility to acquire and apply knowledge in the professional field. Thus, the major objective of the activity was to evaluate the impact of the new training method, which involves the training of the professional skills of the trainees who will study at the NIJ during 2018-2020.
At the same time, each module tutor presented the results of the simulations conducted during the initial training course and formulated recommendations that would favor the improvement of the didactic methodology.
Training sessions were delivered by Konstantsin Dzehtsiarou, professor at the University of Liverpool, UK, and NIJ trainers: Petru Balan, lawyer, and Boris Talpa, the Head of the Legal Information Center, detached judge.
The event was part of the project "Strengthening the technical capabilities of national institutions for the protection and promotion of human rights”, implemented by UNDP Moldova and the National Institute of Justice, with the financial support of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the Kingdom of Denmark.
