The trainees of the National Institute of Justice were on a study visit in Paris and Strasbourg, to familiarize with the French judicial system

During the 20-24 June 2022, candidates to the position of judge, trainees of the XIV and XV promotions from the National Institute of Justice, Olga Marandici, Ana Schibin, Alisa Stratila and Ion Vartolomei were on a study visit to the French Republic.

The trainees visited and became acquainted about several key institutions, the Administrative Tribunal, the Judicial Tribunal and the European Court of Human Rights in Strasbourg, as well as the European Public Prosecutor's Office and the National School of Magistrates in Paris. Furthermore, the trainees find out about the structure, characteristics and legal competences of each authority. Also, future judges had the opportunity to discuss with notorious personalities from the French legal system.

Study visit represents a further training of future judges with a focus on the take-up and implementation of the best practices once the trainees are appointed. This activity was possible due to the support of the French Embassy in Romania, with the plenary involvement of the liaison magistrate with competences for the Republic of Moldova, Pierre De Monte.
