The annual conference of actors in the field of justice, at the third edition

The annual conference of actors in the field of justice under the generic „The legal professions in transformation: ethics, reputation and inter-professional communication”, held its work on Friday, May 31, 2024. The event was organized by ABA ROLI Moldova, in partnership with the National Institute of Justice, as a part of the Supporting Criminal Justice Reform and Strengthening Anticorruption Efforts Program in the Republic of Moldova, with funding support from the U.S. Department of State’s Bureau of International Narcotics and Law Enforcement (INL).

National Institute of Justice, visited by Robert R. Strangest, Executive Director of CEELI Institute

Thursday, May 30, 2024, took place the meeting of the Ad Interim Director of the NIJ, Adrian Cerbu, with the Executive Director of the CEELI Institute in Prague, Robert R. Strang, who was accompanied by representatives of ABA ROLI Moldova – Mihaela Vidaicu, Director, and Ecaterina Vornicescu, legal advisor. Olga Marandici, adviser to the Director of the NIJ, also attended the meeting.

Confidential counselling on ethical matters discussed by judges and prosecutors at round tables

Strengthening integrity and ethical standards both in the judicial and prosecutorial system was the aim of two roundtables, organized on May 29 and 30, 2024, by the Council of Europe Office in Chisinau, in partnership with the National Institute of Justice.

Legal writing and reasoning from a Canadian perspective: public lesson held by judges Marc Richard and Martel D. Popescul

The trainees of the National Institute of Justice participated on Wednesday, May 29, 2024, in the public lesson on the subject of legal writing and reasoning. The expertise was shared by Canadian judges J. C. Marc Richard, Chairman of the Supreme Court of New Brunswick, and Martel D. Popescul, President of the King's Court (King’s Bench) for Saskatchewan.
