In order to familiarize young students with the activity, role, and place of the National Institute of Justice in the justice system of the Republic of Moldova, as well as to encourage them to participate in the admission competition for initial training courses to become judges and prosecutors and to feel the pulse of a court process, the National Institute of Justice opened its doors to its potential audience.
In order to acquire good practices regarding the Georgian mechanism for monitoring femicide and the model for implementing the Istanbul Convention at the national legislation level, several representatives of key institutions in the Republic of Moldova carried out a study visit to Tbilisi, from April 4th to 6th, 2023. The National Institute of Justice was represented by Olga Marandici, the Head of the International Relations Section.
The National Institute of Justice, represented by Ecaterina Popa, Ad interim Director, and Ion Bocan, Head of the Continuous Training Section, participated in the first meeting of the Technical Committee of the new project of the European Union and the Council of Europe "Support for further modernization of the management of the judicial system in the Republic of Moldova (CEPEJ Project)".
Strengthening administrative and managerial capacities in the legal field plays a key role in ensuring efficient and high-quality justice. In this regard, the National Institute of Justice, in partnership with the National School of Magistracy and the Embassy of the French Republic, organized on Wednesday, March 29, 2023, the seminar “Management of Courts and Prosecutors”.
“The trial procedure of criminal cases in the absence of the defendant” is the generic of the continuous training seminar held today, March 28, 2023. The event brings together judges, prosecutors, lawyers and criminal investigation officers, who will be trained by Jeremy McBride and Igor Dolea, Council of Europe consultants.
