At the National Institute of Justice took place the workshop entitled „Best practices regarding the examination and settlement of electoral disputes in the context of the 2024 Presidential election of the Republic of Moldova and EU related republican constitutional referendum”. The event, held on Friday, September 13, 2024, aimed to strengthen the judiciary’s capacity to manage potential electoral disputes. The beneficiaries of the training included specialized judges in the examination of administrative litigation cases from the Supreme Court of Justice, the Chisinau Court of Appeal and the Chisinau Court, as well as the members of the Central Electoral Commission.

On Wednesday, September 11, 2024, at the Prosecutor General's Office, took place a meeting of the relevant stakeholders of the pilot project aimed at strengthening the capacities to investigate, prosecute and examine cases related to chemical, biological, radiological and nuclear security (CBRN). The meeting was also attended by the Ad Interim Director of the National Institute of Justice, Adrian Cerbu. The new project will be fully funded by the European Commission under the European Union Initiative on CBRN Centres of Excellence and implemented by the United Nations Interregional Crime and Justice Research Institute (UNICRI).

The National Institute of Justice hosts, between September 9-12, 2024, the autumn school „Cybercrime investigation and examination. Handling and assessment of electronic evidence”, intended for judges and prosecutors. The action is part of our country's efforts to implement the provisions of the Budapest Convention on Cybercrime, to which Moldova is a signatory party.

On Friday, August 23, 2024, the online launch of the distance learning course "Personal Data Protection in the Context of Publishing Court Decisions" took place. Developed by the European Program for Human Rights Education for Legal Professionals (HELP Program), the e-course is being piloted at the national level by the National Institute of Justice (NIJ) for 71 legal professionals, including judges, prosecutors, prosecutors' consultants, heads of secretariats, judicial assistants, clerks, court and prosecution office employees, lawyers providing state-guaranteed legal assistance, NIJ trainers, and others.

"Standards on the Rule of Law: Highlights on the Current State of Justice in the Republic of Moldova" was the theme of a public lecture delivered by Gabriela Scutea, EU High Legal Advisor on Justice and Prosecution at the Ministry of Justice and former General Prosecutor of Romania. The event, organized for trainees of the National Institute of Justice (NIJ), who are candidates for positions as judges and prosecutors, took place on Wednesday, August 14, 2024, at the NIJ.
