"As the only training center that provides both legal and non-legal trainings, the National Institute of Justice has also covered the intellectual property segment by integrating the “Intellectual Property” module into its continuous training plans. In this regard, in order for our beneficiaries to know the specificity of the intellectual property law, last year we carried out 12 continuous training activities in which 211 people were trained, and in the first half of this year six activities were organized resulting in the training of 85 people" mentioned Diana Scobioala, the Director of NIJ, at the second edition of the regional seminar "Enforcement of Intellectual Property Rights".
On Tuesday, June 4, 2019, the international conference dedicated to Article 5 of the European Convention on Human Rights "The Right to liberty and security", that marks the 70th anniversary of the founding of the Council of Europe was held. Organized by the Council of Europe and the National Institute of Justice, the event aimed at developing a greater understanding by the representatives of the legal system of the principles which form the basis of the provisions of Article 5 of the ECHR, their interpretation by the European Court, and the barriers to the effective implementation of those principles in practice.
The improvement of the judicial training process of the exponents of the justice sector, as well as issues related to the implementation of the Collaboration Agreement between the legal training institutions of the Republic of Moldova and Armenia were discussed at the meeting between Diana Scobioala, the Director of the National Institute of Justice, and Sergey V. Arakelyan, the Rector of the Academy of Justice.
On May 29-31, 2019, the National Institute of Justice hosted the 3rd edition of the National Law Olympiad. The competition brought together students from the law faculties of higher education institutions in the country and aimed at developing and valorization of the intellectual potential of the future lawyers.
