National Institute of Justice, represented by Olga Marandici, head of the International Relations Section, participated in the advanced international training program „Prevention and response to gender-based violence – strengthening agents of change”. Organized by Kvinna till Kvinna in collaboration with the Swedish Police Authority, the event took place from 11-18 November 2023 in Montenegro and aimed to increase the capacities of organizations and national authorities to prevent and provide an effective response to gender-based violence.

Between November16-17, 2023, the trainers of the National Institute of Justice: Livia Mitrofan, ad interim President of the Chisinau Court, and Alexandru Negru, judge at the Chisinau Court, Buiucani headquarters, attended the 16th EuRoQuod conference - a network that gathers, on a voluntary basis, judges from all levels of jurisdiction in Romania, showing a particular interest in the application of European Union law, to acquire new knowledge in the field and to pass on to colleagues from their experience.

Representatives of the National Institute of Justice have made a study visit to Bucharest, Romania, between November 15-17, 2023. The delegation included the employees of the Legal Information Centre, as well as the subdivisions responsible for human resources and communication. The visit to Romania was aimed at sharing experience and best practices in the form of meetings with the exponents of the Romanian judicial training institutions.

On November 13, 2023, a new initial training course for candidates to the positions of judge and prosecutor was launched at the National Institute of Justice. From the 45 trainees who have successfully passed the entrance exam, 30 will study to become a judge, and 15 – to become a prosecutor. The training process will start on November 16, 2023, according to the Initial training programme for the candidates to positions of judge and prosecutor.

On the afternoon of Thursday, November 9, 2023, the ad Interim Director of the National Institute of Justice, Ecaterina Popa, met together in a meeting with the members of the Competition and trainers evaluation Commission. The meeting was also attended by ABAROLI experts, trainers of the National Institute of Magistracy in Romania – Tamara Manea, former prosecutor, former member of the Judicial Inspection, and Nicolae-Horatius Dumbrava, judge at the Targu Mures Court of Appeal, former member of the Superior Council of Magistracy.
